Expert dog training with a personal touch

About us

As a certified ABC (Animal Behavioral College) professional and an avid waterfowl hunter combined with over 30 years of experience, I enjoy making a difference in the lives of the K9 and the owners. I cater to customer's who are looking for a K9 hunting partner that can produce the highest skills possible. Although my passion is gun dog training, I specialize in dog obedience and behavioral issues associated with all larger-breed dogs. It is a rewarding experience to see a customers face when they see the difference a little leadership and confidence can produce.

I will evaluate your pet at our kennel and provide the necessary training plan to make both you and your pet successful. The objective of a training program at Green Timber Training & Kennels is to produce a confident dog that excels as both a family and/or a hunting companion. The cornerstone of my program revolves around our ability to provide not only an exuberant family pet, but an obedient one as well- whether it is in the field or at home. One of the keys to my successful program revolves around owner involvement and handler education. I strive to work one on one with you and your dog in order to build good handling and communication skills. If you know what is expected of your dog you will gain their trust and respect, and the two of you can work better as a team.

I really enjoy meeting people and their pets. I love the satisfaction of knowing I made a difference to the owner, family and the pet. I strive to prevent another pet from heading to the street or to a shelter by providing the proper knowledge and training needed to the pet owner and pet.

Basic Obedience

Phase 1- Basic Obedience Training

The goal is to build a foundation of firm obedience from which the advanced training can be built upon. Within the first four weeks of the program, your pet will be taught five commands (on leash): sit, down, here, heel, and place. We will use a variety of distractions to test these commands to ensure that your pet can be obedient under challenging circumstances.

Advanced Obedience

Phase 2- Advanced Obedience Training

Once your dog has completed the basic obedience training, the dog will move into the next phase of the training program. This objective is to teach your dog all of the basic commands at an advanced level without the leash. This is what is called an “Off Leash Training”.
